Tips On Cutting Down Your Heating Bill.

We all know that our heating bills go up a lot during the cold season, here are a few ways you can cut that bill down. 1. Have a home inspector or energy auditor come in and identify where hot air is escaping in the home. These areas could be doors, windows, chimneys, caulking, and poor insulation in the home. 2. Close any heating vents in rooms that you barely go into. 3. Keep filters in your furnace clean. 4. Consider a programmable thermostat. Keep the temperature at 20 degrees celsius during the day and 14 degrees celsius at night. If it is too cold then put on a sweater. 5. Cut your hot showers in half. 6. Minimize using bathroom and kitchen vents, hot air escapes when these fans are turned on. 7. Consider heating your home with the suns help. 8. Wear warm clothing indoors during cold weather. Try these steps during the cold season and look at the difference in each bill that you get.
